The Company

Australian International Foods Pty. Ltd. located in Scoresby, Victoria, Australia – a 100% Australian owned company, manufactures Darshan products.

The company’s vision is to use high quality Australian ingredients in the manufacture of a complete range of food products, from snacks to whole meals, in distinctive flavour sensations that also offer nutritional value, and require minimal preparation for consumption.

 
     
 

Production

A purpose-built processing and packaging plant built in 2000 manufactures Darshan products to exacting Australian and International export standards.

The plant utilises state-of-the-art machinery specially modified for Darshan.

     

Quality Control

All Darshan products are made to rigorous quality and food safety standards and are manufactured to strict Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programmes.

All manufacturing operations are based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP) which meet the requirements of Codex Alimentarius Alinorm 97/13A.

These exacting quality standards ensure consistency and guarantee consumer safety.

 
     
 

Distribution

Darshan savoury products are widely distributed nationally through the two leading supermarket chains– Woolworths and Coles as well as 500+ independent grocers.

In addition, the products are sold through an increasing range of food service customers from catering (canteens - schools, hospitals, meals on wheels, aged care, corporate catering) to convenience food outlets and independent cafes and restaurants, via an established network of distributors and agents.
     
Unique Savoury Flavour
Nothing tastes like Darshan - It is the combination of no less than 14 different herbs and spices such as Coriander, fennel, cumin, fenugreek, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and dill, with the highest quality Australian ingredients – lean minced beef, chicken or lamb and selected vegetables encased in unique wraps, which create the special Darshan flavour.

Borne out of the heritage of the Sri Lankan kitchen and  re-created for the world palate, Darshan products are a winning blend of East and West - Indian and Sri Lankan flavour combined with hearty, high quality Australian ingredients.
  
     
 

Healthy Choice

The carefully selected high quality ingredients used in the formulation of Darshan products, and the controls and processes used in the manufacture (such as flash frying, to control fat absorption), has ensured the creation of products that are a healthy choice for the consumer. As a result, the National Heart Foundation of Australia and New Zealand has approved the inclusion of Darshan Savoury Rolls and Samosas in the exclusive list of products permitted to carry the “tick” logo.

“Tick approved products represent a healthier choice within a particular food category. All foods in the Tick program, without exception, must meet the Heart Foundation's Guidelines for Tick Approval.
